KATHMANDU, APR 12 – CPN-UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal said that the political parties are trying to forge consensus on the controversies of constitution process at the earliest. He claimed that the constitution would be a New Year’s ‘gift’ for the people.
Continuing his daily telephone conversations with the people’s representative across the nation, Khanal talked to the politicians and civil society representatives of Siraha on Thursday.
The UML chair claimed that an environment for agreement has been created as the Maoist combatants and weapons are now under the government’s control. He also expressed his confidence for early settlement of the remaining disputes of the integration process.
Furthermore, Khanal said his party was sensitive enough on the issues of Madhes.
During the conversation, the politicians and civil society representatives of Siraha expressed their concerns about peace, constitution and Madhes revolution.
Khanal is taking suggestions from across the country via telephonic conversations as he has vowed to stay in the capital until the constitution has been promulgated.
