BIRATNAGAR, OCT 02 – Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) Chairman Upendra Yadav said that the deal to integrate 10,000 Madhesis in the national security is anti-Madhesi. He also expressed his discontent at the commencement of process to integrate 10,000 Madhesi youth in the army.
Speaking at a program organised in Biratnagar, MJF Chairman Yadav said that a quantitative approach would not be enough. “The bulk integration of 10,000 Madhesis would not suffice,” said Yadav.
Yadav stated that the Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) committed a mistake by agreeing to integrate only 10,000 in exchange for the ruling coalition at a time when the Madhesis were struggling for a respectable representation in all the state organs of the nation.
Yadav went further to state that Defence Minister Sharat Singh Bhandari’s statement was also against the sentiment of the Madhesis. “Bhandari’s statement is against the sentiment and want of the Madhesis,” said Yadav.
Earlier, last week, Bhandari had said that the 22 Madhesi districts would detach themselves from the nation if they are still underestimated.
