Minister for Information and Communications JP Gupta Jaya Prakash Gupta claimed that the cabinet has not decided to legalise the land transactions made by the Maoist parallel government during the decade long insurgency.
The application put forth by the Minister for Land Reform and Management was against the law due to which it was not accepted, Minister Gupta informed.
He cleared that Madhesi Morcha will not accept the legalising of the land transactions made by the Maoist parallel government during the long insurgency.
He claims that though Baburam Bhattarai-led government is making progress towards concluding the twin tasks of peace process and constitution drafting, they are unsuccessful in giving compensation to the people.
He opined that the current government needs to upgrade to a national consensus government if possible.
He said that, in the state of failure in consensus, Nepali Congress might get the turn to lead the country. However, he further said that they won’t give leadership to NC unless they bring a clear vision regarding federalism, form of governance and Madhes issues.
