Maoists to recall Minister Sah
A UCPN (Maoist) office bearers’ meeting Sunday morning decided to relieve murder accused Minister for Land Reforms and Management Prabhu Sah of government duty.
The meeting held at party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s residence in Nayabazar this morning decided to recall Shah from the Maoist-led government with view to easing the ongoing peace process, the prime minister’s press advisor Ram Rijhan Yadav informed.
The Maoist decision to recall Sah comes amid intense pressure from opposition parties specifically Nepali Congress and CPN UML for sacking of Sah–who has been implicated in the murder of KashinathTiwari, a Hindu youth leader, in Birgunj–and Defense Minister Sharat Singh Bhandari for his controversial statement.
Earlier, Minister Bhandari had made the remark that no law in the country could stop the 22 Terai districts from seceding if the state showed apathy to the concerns of those districts.
A day earlier, a meeting of the ruling coalition partners had agreed to leave it to the respective parties to decide the fate of Bhandari and Sah.
Sah represents the Maoist party whereas Bhandari was appointed to the ministerial post from the Madhesi People´s Rights Forum-Democratic (MPRF-D), the second largest party in the ruling coalition.(KIRAN PUN republica)
