Optimism soars in Maoist tea party

KATHMANDU: UCPN-Maoist has organised a tea-reception programme on the occasion of Dashain, Tihar, Nepal Sambat 1132 and Chhath festivals in Kathmandu on Monday.

The tea party is currently underway at Bhrikutimandap.On the occasion, various top brass of the ruling Maoist and main opposition parties, Nepali Congress and CPN-UML and other political parties including Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Prime Minister and party vice Chairman Baburam Bhattarai, Mohan Baidhya, UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal, NC president Sushil Koirala, Constituent Assembly Chairman Subash Nembang, Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar, are taking part in the programme.Speaking with journalists on the occasion, the main leaders of the big three parties expressed hope that they will soon forge an agreement on the issue of the peace process.

Maoist chairman Dahal said that the inter-party talks are being held in a positive and very serious manner and expressed belief that they will soon reach a conclusion.

Also, speaking in the programme, UML chairman Khanal stated that the main parties have agreed to forge consensus on the package deal.

Similarly, NC president Koirala vowed to conclude the tasks of peace and constitution writing with utmost flexibility.
