SAPTARI: Private schools’ operators have decided to shut schools in Saptari district for 11 days, as education institutions have not been running smoothly due to the bandh.
A meeting of PABSON and NPABSON, Saptari, decided to shut the schools for 11 days, beginning May 18. Naresh Prasad Shah, Saptari secretary, NPABSON, claimed that bandh enforcers barged into schools and vandalised infrastructure, adversely affecting the children mentally.
Shah, who is also the principal of Shiva International Secondary School, Rajbiraj, said, “We do not want to run the schools risking children’s well-being. We will reduce the number of holidays during summer vacation.’’
Anil Kumar Jha, Saptari PABSON chairman and Bouku Shah, chairman, NPABSON, Saptari, issued a joint statement announcing the schools’ closure. Study of more than 40,000 students of 107 private schools would be affected due to the closure of schools.
