KATHMANDU: It has been learnt that UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s son Prakash Dahal has been suspended from the membership of the Maoist party’s state committee over his alleged extramarital affair with student leader Bina Magar.
The decision was taken by the party’s politburo meeting that kicked off today.
Rumour about their affairs was doing the rounds while the duo undertook the Lumbini-Mount Everest Peace March 2012. Both Prakash and Magar are married to their respective spouses.
Dahal was accompanied by seven other members including Magar of ‘Lumbini-Mount Everest Peace March 2012,’which had earlier refused Rs 20 million from state coffers for their trip after opposition parties warned of protest against the government’s aid to Maoist Everest expedition.
UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s son Prakash Dahal had scaled 29,028-feet Mount Everest on May 26, earlier this year.
In the meeting held at the party headquarters in Peris Danda, Koteshwor, today Chairman Dahal presented his political document. The proposal stresses for the unification and consolidation of the party.
