KATHMANDU: Senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba-led faction has agreed to attend the party’s Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting tomorrow after a boycott of eight months.

“We have prepared 20 to 25 names for Nepal Student Union and 8 to 10 names for Nepal Tarun Dal and Nepal Mahila Sangh for inclusion in the central level ad-hoc committees from our side as agreed with the party establishment. We will send the names tomorrow morning to party President Sushil Koirala. After the names are announced, we will attend the CWC meeting, possibly from tomorrow,” said a senior leader from Deuba camp.

The Deuba faction, which has been demanding a package solution in other appointments in the party, has now agreed to find consensus after taking part in the CWC meeting.

Deuba today phoned Koirala and said his group was finalising the names for appointment in the sister bodies and would take part in the CWC meeting from tomorrow once the proposed names were added in the sister bodies, sources said.

Koirala had phoned Deuba yesterday morning requesting him to attend the party’s CWC meeting. Koirala then had sent a three-member talks-team to Deuba’s residence for talks.

After the party’s CWC dissolved the central bodies of the four sister wings on September 20 amid the boycott of the CWC meeting from Deuba’s side, the rift had widened in the party.

Deuba had resigned from CWC membership on September 28 after Koirala refused the demand to reinstate the dissolved bodies. Koirala had refused to approve Deuba’s resignation appealing that the dispute be settled through consensus.
