Major parties agree to complete remaining tasks of army integration
The three major political parties – UCPN (Maoist) agreed on Sunday to move ahead as per “politics of national consensus” after doing away with the misunderstanding and differences among themselves.
In the meeting held at the Secretariat of the Special Committee for Supervision, Integration and Rehabilitation of Maoist combatants at New Baneshwor on Sunday, the top leaders of the three parties reached a tentative agreement to let the Special Committee, whose tenure was extended by three more months last week, complete the remaining task of army integration and pave the path for successful conclusion of the peace process.
During the meeting, NC and UML also expressed dissatisfaction with the Maoists for portraying them as anti-federalists.
