The major parties – UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML – have agreed to start discussion for solving the contentious issues of the new agreement from Sunday.
Earlier, the leaders of the fringe parties had called on the major parties to solve the contentious issues at the earliest as the deadline decided, after reviewing the constitution calendar is on Feb 12.
Speaking at the meeting Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that the major parties would reach a conclusion soon. “We like the recommendations. We would soon solve the issues,” said Dahal.
Similarly, UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal said that the major parties have decided to hold a meeting with the fringe parties ones they have solved the contentious issues. He said that the issues would be narrowed down on Sunday as the parties are set to discuss the issues of form of governance, electoral system, judicial system and the proposal of state restructuring commission.
