Minister Mahato seeks Indian aid for children’s hospitals

KATHMANDU: Minister for Health and Population Rajendra Mahato on Thursday has urged the Indian government to provide assistance for building two children’s hospitals.

The minister requested for the assistance during a meeting with Indian Ambassador Jayant Prasad, who had reached the Minister’s office this afternoon.

On the occasion, Ambassador Prasad expressed his belief that Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai, who is scheduled to visit India next week, would discuss the issue and hopefully sign a deal with the Indian government. He further expressed his commitment that the Indian government would continue assisting Nepal in future as earlier.

On the occasion the minister also urged the envoy to help in operating the Trauma Centre which was constructed two years back with Indian assistance. The Trauma Centre is yet to start its services due to several debates. THT ONLINE
