Baidya faction seeks apology from establishment
KATHMANDU, JUN 14 – The hardline faction of the UCPN (Maoist) led by Vice Chairman Mohan Baidya has deemed the seven-point proposal presented by party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal as just another attempt of deception.
Baidya’s faction presented a six-point answer, signed by Baidya and General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa, to Dahal’s seven-point proposal to keep the troubled party united. “A standing committee meeting of the leaders close to the establishment faction had given us a seven-point proposal. But the proposal is driven by the intention to deceive and betray the members rather than resolving the problems to maintain the party unity intact,” the statement read.
The Maoist hardliners, in their reply, have stated that the establishment faction should apologise to the people for all their mistakes and weaknesses and also publish their commitment never to repeat the same in future.
“Only then would there be a possibility of any solution to the rifts. If not then the nation-wide assembly of the party hardliners, starting from Friday would stay as it is,” the statement reads.Ekantipur Report
