Three-party meet underway

 

KATHMANDU: Three major political parties (United CPN Maoist, Nepali Congress and CPN-UML) are holding a meeting at the office of the Special Committee in New Baneshwor Wednesday.

The meeting will dwell on the three key issues – election, consensus government and constitution drafting – said a source privy to the meeting.

In a bid to forge consensus among the political parties in a package on the current political and constitutional issues, the meeting has been called.

UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has been taking initiatives to hold interactions with the political parties to iron out the existing political differences of late.

Chairman Dahal had met President Dr Ram Baran Yadav and NC President Sushil Koirala during which Presidnet Yadav had urged Dahal to take initiatives to hold dialogues among the parties to break the current political stalemate.

President Yadav had also expressed serious concerns stating that the country has not yet witnessed an outlet even three months after the dissolution of the Constituent Assembly during the meeting yesterday.
