MJF lawmaker YADAV Arrested
Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) lawmaker Shiva Pujan Yadav, who was absconding since last three months after the authorities issued warrant against him over the passport scam, was arrested in Kathmandu Monday evening.
A police team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) arrested Yadav from Tahachal. He has been kept at the Metropolitan Police Range, Hanumandhoka, for further investigation.
Yadav, who was elected from Sarlahi-6 in the Constituent Assembly election, has been accused of selling his diplomatic passport for a hefty sum.
According to police, one Kedar Poudel from Myagdi district was found to have flown to Australia with the red passport issued to Yadav by replacing the name and photo in the original passport.
Fearing arrest, Yadav had skipped the meetings of the legislature parliament and the committees under it ever since the arrest warrant was issued against him.
