United Nations body blamed for encouraging communal hatred in Nepal
Activists staged a sit-in protest in front of United Nations’ Office in Pulchowk of Kathmandu, May 14, 2012, serving stern warning to the global body and other members of diplomatic community to stop provoking ethnic unrest in the country.
The activists also alleged that UN and other members of donor community were using one community against the other and supporting racial politics.
“We do not need their support as they have provoked violence in the country instead of maintaining ethnic harmony inside Nepal”, said Sailendra Goudel.
Goudel had led the protest.

The activists were later freed by the police.
To recall, Chhetri-Brahmin Society of Kavre, May 8, 2012, holding a press meet in Banepa had blamed the UN body for supporting racial politics with the hidden agenda to disintegrate the country.
“We will not allow any UN vehicles to pass through the district” the committee members had also threatened at the press meet.
