Nepali Congress cannot take the leadership of the election government :DAHAL
KATHMANDU: UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that the Nepali Congress (NC) cannot take the leadership of the election government.
“A new basis should be sought regarding the formation of the national consensus government as the five-point pact inked earlier is on the verge of expiry,” said Dahal while speaking at an interaction organised in Lalitpur on Saturday.
A five-point agreement reached among the major parties — the ruling UCPN-Maoist and United Democratic Madhesi Front and NC and UML — on May 3 had called for handing over the government leadership to NC just before the constitution was promulgated, and riding on the same deal, NC and UML have been asking the prime minister to step down after the latter ‘unilaterally’ announced the fresh poll to elect new CA(Constituent Assembly) following its demise.
On the occasion, Dahal also urged oppositions not to misapprehend the Federal Democratic Alliance, which according to Dahal is formed to ensure federalism with identity and a constitution with federalism.
