KATHMANDU: Muslims across the country on Monday are celebrating Eid al –Fitr with much gusto and fanfare.
The day marks the end of Ramadan, the holy festival of the Muslim community. The Muslims observing this festival stay on fast for self-purification for a month.
Devotees, who have been fasting during the Ramadan, observe the occasion with a feast. Revellers throng mosques before dawn for Eid prayers and listen to sermons from their religious guru.
Hundreds of Muslims flock Jame Mosque at Bagbazaar in Kathmandu for the festival, which is celebrated with family and friends. The government has declared public holiday to mark the festival.
