FDRA holds first meet,Calls for all-party meet on Sept 4
KATHMANDU, AUG 24 – The newly-formed alliance of ruling parties, Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA), held its first meeting at the UCPN (Maoist) party office at Paris Danda in the Capital on Friday.
A nine-man secretariat was formed during the meeting under the coordination of UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal. Dahal is also the coordinator of FDRA. According to Sadbhawana party leader Laxman Lal Karna, the meeting also discussed the establishment of a central office for FDRA.
Moreover, the meeting decided that an all-party meet would be called on September 4 to seek an outlet for the present political deadlocks. The leaders said the major focus of the meeting would be to bring the opposition parties, mainly Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, into the paradigm of consensus.
