10,000 security personnel in high-alert have been deployed in the Capital,
KATHMANDU: With the looming deadline of the Constituent Assembly (CA), security provision in the Capital has been beefed up in order to avert any untoward incidents.
As high as 10,000 security personnel have been deployed in the Capital fearing possible clashes among different agitating groups.
Spokesperson of Nepal Police Dhiraj Pratap Singh confirmed that large numbers of security personnel have been deployed in order to maintain security provision in the Capital and security situation has been beefed up in sensitive areas.
He said a total of 640 security personnel have been deployed at Baneshwor area under the command of Deputy Superintendents of Police Basanta Pant and Shanti Basnet keeping in mind possible protest programmes, rallies and others in the area.

Singh said additional 3,400 personnel of the Nepal Police and 1,400 personnel of the Armed Police Force along with 200 security personnel in plainclothes have been deployed from today in the Capital.
Trained dogs and a large number of security forces have been mobilised at the areas of Office of the President, Sheetal Niwas, Office of the Vice-President, Kantipath, Official residence of the Prime Minister, Baluwatar and residential areas of top leaders of major political parties.
Police said bomb disposal team, water tanks and police van have been kept standby in the Capital.
