The Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Republican) has decided to retain its chairman Jaya Prakash Prasad Gupta, who has been jailed for corruption, in the same post. The party also nominated Raj Kishor Yadav as the party’s acting chairman.
A meeting of the MJF-R decided to keep Gupta’s post intact and also described the Supreme Court’s verdict to jail him for one and half year for corruption as “biased and ill-intended” and that the verdict should be “corrected”.

However, two-day meeting of the central committee could not name the candidate for the communication minister, which has turned vacant after Gupta’s imprisonment.

Gupta, who has been kept at Dillibazaar prison, has already been stripped of his Constituent Assembly membership and the ministerial berth. nepalnews.com
