Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai sacked Minister Sarita Giri.
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai Friday sacked Minister for Labour and Transport Management Sarita Giri for refusing to follow his instruction to cancel the transfer of the head of the Foreign Employment Department.
Minister Giri had been refusing to reinstate Purna Chandra Bhattarai, Director General of the department, who, according to the Prime Minister, was performing well. PM Bhattarai had sought clarification from her over the ‘unjustifiable’ transfer.
However, Giri, the chairperson of Nepal Sadbhawana Party, had gone on to defend her decision to transfer the bureaucrat.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister has appointed M.S Thapa of Rastriya Janamukti Party as the new Minister for Labour and Transport Management. Thapa is to be sworn in late today
