Ranju Jha, Bimal Charan and Jhagadu Manda killed in Bomb blast in Janakpur
JANAKPUR, April 30: A bomb went off at Ramananda Chowk in Janakpur on Monday, killing four persons and injuring at least 30 others.
Those killed in the blast have been identified as Ranju Jha, 32, Bimal Charan and Jhagadu Mandal. One another Suresh Upadhyay succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.
They were all participating in a sit-in demanding a separate Mithila state in the new constitution.
The bomb was fixed on a motorcycle (Ja 2 Pa 9395) parked at the sit-in site. It is not clear who rode the bike to the site and left it there.
A huge crowd has thronged the blast site and the explosion has left the public panic-stricken.
Meanwhile, the Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha has owned up the blast.
Sending a text message via phone to journalists, the armed underground outfit has said the blast was intended to warn Madhesi leaders that they should come down on the street to get Madhes concerns addressed. republica
