“The parties will sit together at 8:30 tomorrow morning as a last-ditch attempt to forge consensus over the issues”
KATHMANDU: The major political forces — UCPN-Maoist, Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and United Democratic Madhesi Front — on Monday also failed to resolve their differences over the contentions issues state-restructuring and forms of government after all of them stuck to their previous stances.



In a meeting held at the Constituent Assembly building in New Baneshwor, they discussed the issues related to the new constitution and the formation of a national unity government.

Emerging from the meeting, CPN-UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal told the media that the discussion could not forge any agreement as all the sides stuck to their previous stances.

According to him, today’s meeting ended on a negative note.

After the meeting, the former prime minister expressed speculation over the possibility of promulgation of new constitution on time and said that seriousness was called for to find an agreement.

Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachhadar informed that the parties will sit together at 8:30 tomorrow morning as a last-ditch attempt to forge consensus over the issues.

The parties had held bilateral and multilateral talks this afternoon to discuss the three issues.

Earlier today, the coalition allies held a meeting at the Prime Minister’s official residence and concluded to face all potential threat to the incumbent government and save it till the promulgation of new constitution.THT ONLINE
