PM says he is ready to quit

KATHMANDU, June 26: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai Tuesday said he is ready to step down if the parties reach consensus but said his resignation should not be made a precondition for forging such a consensus.

The prime minister had earlier said he would not resign until a government following election of new parliament is formed.

“I am ready to tender my resignation but my resignation should not be made a pre-condition for consensus,” the prime minister told a select group of media persons at his residence in Baluwatar.
