(MJF-G) has decided not to maintain relation with Jaya Prakash Gupta: Minister Yadav
PARSA, JUL 26 – The Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Gantantrik (MJF-G) has decided not to maintain relation with the party’s establishment Chairman Jaya Prakash Gupta in the future.
The extended meeting of the MJF-G that concluded in Birgunj, Prasa on Thursday decided to sever ties with Gupta as he was jailed for corruption.
Making public the party’s decision at a press meet after the conclusion of the talks, MJF-G Acting Chairman and Information Minister Raj Kishor Yadav said the party took the decision because Gupta was found guilty of immoral act of corruption.
Yadav was furious with Gupta after the latter expressed his support to the rival faction led by Nandan Kumar Dutta.
Earlier, a majority of the party central committee members including Dutta had expelled Yadav from the party accusing him of showing dictatorial tendency. Former Minster Gupta who was jailed after the Supreme Court convicted him on corruption charge in February had also supported the decision.
The extended meeting led by Yadav faction endorsed the decision to expel central members including Nandan Kumar Dutta, Aatmaram Prasad Sah, Sarita Kumari Sah and Rajib Jha from the party.
However, the party has decided to give them the opportunity to file complaint during the party general convention.
Though there is no alternative to consensus between the major political forces, the party has underscored that the power should not be set as conditions for consensus.SHANKAR ACHARYA,ekantipur
