National Madhesi Front formed
KATHMANDU, MAY 13 – In order to secure Madhes issues in the new constitution, fringe parties and several professional organisations representing the Tarai have formed the National Madhesi Front.
The alliance of Tarai-Madhes Forum, Nepal Sadbhawana Party (Gajendrabadi) and Madhes Kranti Forum, and professional alliance Citizen Rights Protection Group have sought the guarantee of autonomous Madhes province with right to self determination.
According to a statement, the NMF stands for a House-elected prime minister and a ceremonial president elected by an electoral college. The Front has decided to hold various programmes to promote its cause.
