Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai invites Maldivian Maldivian President Mohamed Nasheed to visit Nepal
KATHMANDU, NOV 10 – Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, who is in Maldives to attend the 17th SAARC summit, met Maldivian President Mohamed Nasheed on Wednesday evening in Addu City of Maldives.
In the meeting, it was agreed to develop the SAARC as a platform to work for the benefit of all sides rather than a place for mere discussion.
According to Prime Minister’s personal aide, Biswodeep Pandey, the two leaders agreed to establish Embassies in the respective countries reaching to an understanding that the absence of embassy in either country has impeded diplomatic efforts.
During the meeting, the two sides also reached an agreement to immediately implement the direct flight connection between Nepal and the Maldives after holding high-level discussion in this regard.
At the same occasion, Prime Minister Bhattarai extended an invitation to President Nasheed for Nepal visit.
In reply, the President accepted the proposal put forward by the prime minister and gave nod to visit Nepal at the convenient time. RSS
